| EVENTS for 2012 |
EXAMINATIONS: These are encouraged but non-compulsory.
R.A.D. General Grades examinations are held in our studio each year in late July or early August. R.A.D. Vocational Grades examinations are held in Brisbane in May and in August/September each year.
C.S.T.D. Jazz examinations are held in our studio each year in October and/or May/June.
Glenn Wood Tap examinations are held in 4th term.
SUNSHINE COAST EISTEDDFOD: This is held in the Events Centre in Caloundra each May.
RECITAL/ DEMONSTRATION: The school presents a recital every second year at the Events Centre in Caloundra. In the alternate year, students, wearing class attire, present a demonstration of work-in-progress at the same venue. This year, 2012, the school will present a recital on November 30th and December 1st.
CLASSES WITH GUEST TEACHERS: Paul Boyd, a former principal dancer with many of Euope's leading ballet companies as well as the Queensland Ballet and currently a very successful choreographer and international ballet coach. Benita Whalley, former principal dancer with Queensland Ballet, and West Australian Ballet and now a vocational grades examiner for the R.A.D. Henning Albrechtsen, former principal dancer and deputy artistic director with the Royal Danish Ballet and now a faculty member of the Royal Danish Ballet School in Copenhagen. Henning is currently visiting Australia on a cultural exchange program.
